The seats were comfy, but way too low down. If someone has been sitting in front of me, it would have blocked my view of the screen. It was much too dark in the theater; I couldn't see to eat my food. Movie Tavern keeps just enough lighting to see your food without it being distracting. The menu had decent variety, but for the prices, the portions were lacking in size. While it wasn't a bad experience, I don't think I'll be returning. I'll stick with Movie Tavern in the future.
Let's see. The floors were tacky as soon as we walked in. We sit down to realize that the seats we paid for were in a theater that doesn't have reclining chairs. They are just big uncomfortable rocking chairs that allow no freedom of movement. They are just long enough to cut off circulation to your legs as you try to put your feet in the ground. We decide to order wine, small popcorn and pretzel bites. The wine arrives the glass is dirty and still has lipstick imprints on it, back that glass goes. Glass#2 still dirty but no lipstick. "Small" popcorn arrives, it's a big bucket. I am assured that this is a small. That there is only one size. Pretzel bites arrive. I had asked for both to be cheese. One was honey mustard. Had to return that. Eat some of the popcorn. No butter on it at all. As we are sitting waiting for the previews I'm already sweating and sticking to my seat. I ask the waitress if the AC is out. She says it's working but really only kicks on a couple of minutes into the movie. An hour into the movie both my girlfriend and I are sweating. My girlfriend actually leaves the movie because she is so hot and is told by the staff that it is on and as high as it goes. She comes back on in to suffer with me. I order another pretzel bite and it comes with one cheese. I ask for the second one it normally comes with and I'm told by the waitress that the kitchen complained and if I wanted a second cheese in place of the other condiment it was a dollar up charge. Cause cheese is more expensive. Nope. We sit and continue to sweat the rest of the movie in our circulation crushing rocking chairs till the bill comes. Lo and behold our "small" only one size popcorn is charged a large at the tune of $8.50 We paid and left. All in all. This was my worst experience at a movie theater and I will not be returning. I'm sure there is better places to go around.
Fast food, drinks and a movie in a comfortable setting. Plenty of room and a padded recliner with cup holders and tray table make for an enjoyable night at the movies. The audio and video systems are up to the task and the food is okay. Good drink menu and cloth napkins... it's good.
I like it... Ticket prices aren’t that bad but I almost had a heart attack when I looked at the bill. $67 for two sodas 10 wings, a burger and fries. The food was really good but Sheesh... that’s very expensive, we agreed to get pop corn only next time. Also, I’m extremely short which made it difficult for me to get comfortable in those seats. I don’t know why they don’t have the reclining seats in all theaters. We had a good time though..
First experience will be the last time there. Stopped at the bar...I had a Blue Moon and my girlfriend had a shot of bourbon.. $18.00... really... sat down about 7:05 for our 7:15 movie.. a server came up right away and took our orders. We ordered an appetizer..I ordered the SW chicken bowl..girlfriend ordered steak and shrimp bowl. Our drinks arrived.. water for me that I didn't order and almost wore because the clumsy server handed reached over me while spilling everywhere.. no apology... the. Our appetizer came by way of the most miserable person..i think she handed it to us and grunted.. then we waited and waited and waited until our cold entrees arrived..at 8:30. Fuming.. so what do you Do? I received the bill.. (5.20) for a Sprite.. I handed the server back the bill and asked why we had to wait so long.. 'we were backed up...' then I asked to speak to a manager.. no show.. we did see the server walking by in the lobby avoiding eye contact.. Went to the ladies room.. no toilet paper... came out to the lobby..asked to speak with the manager..when he came out I extended my hand and introduced myself.. he never did and I explained how unhappy our first experience was. He seemed extremely un phased and just about apologized. I didn't really expect anything but as a person who works in Customer service I find it very sad that there is no care.. especially here. DON'T GO.. Save your money.. go to Movie Tavern. You will have your meal before the movie.. and enjoy much more.
