Good work, fair pricing, most importantly trust worthy. took an extra day and left all the contents of my glove in the seat including greasy rags in my passenger seat. But will be back with my wife's car!
Great people, for the first time didn't feel like a car salesman was trying to scam me
Took my car here for inspection knowing I'd probably need brakes. They were very friendly on the phone, and got me in relatively promptly. When they called to talk about repairs, they told me I needed all four brakes and rotors, and one new caliper before I could pass inspection. They quoted me at around $1200. This sounded high to me, so I opted to take my car elsewhere. At my preferred garage, they told me I did not actually need a new caliper just yet, but rather it could be cleaned and be just fine. I was able to get all four brakes/rotors done and the caliper for around $600. On the more pleasant side, they did offer me a coupon for the inspection to bring the price down, but the discounted price was honestly the same as other mechanics, so I don't know how valuable that really was. Long story short, they were pleasant to work with, but overpriced in my opinion.
Called in (Wednesday 9-20-17) about having an engine build with a forged bottom end and tuned. Was told they would write up a quote for the work and I would receive a call right back. Two days later, on Friday, still no quote so I called and left a message for John (the man I had spoken with). That following Monday I called and was told my message would be given to John and he would call me back within 30 minutes (I was assured of this). No call by the end of business on Monday. Called Tuesday the man on the phone had a tone on his voice as if I was wasting his time, so I kindly asked him just to let John know I wasn't interested. He replied with "OK" without even asking me who I was or what the car was. I asked him, "Don't you at least want my name just so John doesn't have to waste his time?" His reply, "Um sure...". Level of professionalism is on the ground. First impressions mean everything and to say I am seriously unimpressed is an understatement.
As we all know, it's hard to find a dependable and honest mechanic shop. Dave's is an exception with their honest, family-owned staff that works very hard to see as many customers happy as possible. This sounds like a paid review, but I am just a happy customer who's finally found a good shop. Their rates are a little higher than other shops but for the honesty, quick service, and no BS - it's worth it!
